mbloescher on "MailChimp password change log in error"

My new client had to fire the old IT guy and my first task was to change all of the passwords. I went to MailChimp and successfully changed the password, but when I go to the plug in in WP and try to log in, I get this error:

POST to http://my.clientsite.com/index.php?mcsf_action=authorized&salt=e19f4eb951f4ddf71096f48fd0d4103e&user_id=1 failed with 500:
Followed by a whole bunch of HTML which I assume is supposed to display a web page telling me what the 500 error is.

I tried the old password and I get the headshake and wrong password message, so this issue only occurs using the correct password. The site has been up and running fine for a couple of years, this just occurred after changing the password.

MailChimp version is 1.4.1 and I don't see any issued API keys on the MailChimp site.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I recently took over a project and I'm trying to get the the form to overplay on top of an image.

Here the page hunger for happiness and towards the bottom you'll see the image "Did you enjoy this post?" The owner would like the form to to be overlaid onto of the image so form is directly under name and email.

I've been using the tips in this thread: to try and adjust the color of my "Submit" button. The problem is, nothing I do changes the color on hover; it just overrides the transparent button color and leaves the hover color incorrect. I also haven't been able to find the code in my theme's footer sheet. Help? I want to make the button color the same as the rest of my theme's main accent color, but for some reason it's only showing up as the theme's original accent color.

Unfortunately, the site is hidden because it's in development. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I just installed Easy Digital Downloads. I want to give away something for free in exchange for an email address. In the Easy Digital Downloads checkout it ask for an email address. When some fills out that form is there a way to send their information directly to my MailChimp so the information does not have to be manually entered.

Thank you!

I have a weekly MailChimp newsletter reviewing posts of the past week. I use MailChimp's RSS feed template. For about a month, everything worked beautifully. Now, I get reports from subscribers that links to posts aren't working and they're getting the "oops" error message that the page isn't there, or isn't working. Is there anything associated with WordPress that could be going wrong?

nancymainhealth on "inserting mailchimp "optin" HTML code in Wordpress"

I am a new wordpress/mailchimp user. I have learned how to create opt-in links in Mailchimp and insert them into my Wordpress site and they work. However, when I create HTML code for optin bars/popups in Mailchimp and paste it into my WP site (text window) it fails. The way it fails is that my optin does not include the place for the user to enter any information. It does include my optin text so it is partially working.

Please forgive my ignorance, I realize this is a very simple issue, but I just can't find the answer anywhere.

I am using the free version of Mailchimp.
I have looked all over but cant find where it says which version of WP I am using.

Here is my site:

JblaskyVT on "[Plugin: MailChimp for WordPress] How can subscribers update their preferences from a web signup form?"

I am using MailChimp for WordPress Lite and have created a signup form on my website where subscribers can choose to be in one of two groups (i.e. sign up for one of two email lists.) This works fine, and new subscribers show up in the proper MailChimp group. If a person who is already subscribed tries to sign-up on the web, they get the error message “Given email address is already subscribed, thank you!” but they are not given the option to “click here to update your profile” as shown in this tutorial
http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/how-subscribers-can-update-their-profiles

I do have an update profile link on the bottom of MailChimp campaigns, and it works properly, but this options does not come up on the web sign-up form. I must be missing something simple. Any suggestions? Thanks, Jerry

Hi everyone! This is my first post and I am very new to WP, HTML and CSS.

So I basically want to insert a single field form to the fourth column of my footer, whith the writing area aligned with the " subscribe " button.

I customized the HTML code Mailchimp gave and it works fine when I open it in Chrome and Safari. But when I paste the code in the widgets footer column, the subscribe button
is under the writing bar, not aligned with it.

What do you think I'm doing wrong? Please save me, I'm going nuts.

mrzasa on "RSS Feed styling is not being pulled into MailChimp Basic RSS email campaign"

I have used the Basic RSS template for my MailChiimp campaign and used *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* to pull the content of my blog's post into the email. The styles for the content of the blog are not being translated to the email template.

I have contacted MailChimp and they have replied with the following:

The merge tag *|RSSITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* will bring in HTML from the RSS feed between the <content:encoded> tags. It looks like your RSS feed doesn't include a lot of styling information in the <content:encoded> tag. Because of this, we aren't able to bring that styling over.

...your RSS feed is managed by Wordpress you will want to reach out to their support team so they can help out editing your feed so that our system is able to pull in the styles in your feed.

I have searched the forums to no avail and am hoping to get this resolved asap. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, I'm trying to add images to my RSS email campaign in MailChimp. Setting the image to "Large" and centred the image is really big when viewed on mobile. This results in the user having to horizontally scroll to see the image. How do I set the image so that the email gets shrunk on mobile?

Thanks,
Paul

Brent Logan on "[Plugin: Responsify WP] Don't process feed?"

It appears that Responsify also processes the feed. This is fine when I use Feedly to view my blog posts. But I also have MailChimp process my feed and forward it to subscribers. MailChimp appears to be stripping the srcset attribute out of the img tag.

Ideally, MailChimp would handle this correctly. In the meantime, being able not to responsify the feed seems like a good fallback position.

Hello,

I am trying to add the Mailchimp email subscribe widget to my Decode theme but I do not want it to be in the sidebar. I want it to be set independently on my site.

How can I do that when the only option I have is to add widget to SIDEBAR under Appearance > Widget? I do not want it in my SIDEBAR.

Thank you!

Jilliank on "[Plugin: WP Construction Mode] Two issues - Background image & Mail chimp form"

So far I really like your plug in and all it has to offer. I especially, like I can put an individual page in maintenance mode while the rest of my site is visible.

However, I am having 2 issues though;

1. I cannot upload a background or logo image. I have tried to upload from Media library, url and computer file. Nothing happens except a white pop up box that gets stuck shows up. I found a reply to the same issue and followed the instructions with the code in Css but it does not work. Please, help.

2. With the Mail Chimp form, I embed the code Mail Chimp has given me but on the page it shows a bunch of white line boxes with Name=, etc. inside, plus there is another white line box that is empty. I ended up deleting the code and placing my email address in one of the lines your plugin provided that says "We will be back soon".

How can I fix these 2 issues? Thank you for your help.

I installed MailChimp for WordPress on my blog and linked it to my Mailchimp list.

I tested the form and it worked fine.

A couple of weeks later, the form appears to be unlinked from my form (the box is not ticked in the dashboard) and I've had to re-tick this.

Does anyone know why this would occur?

I have been setting up an RSS-to-email campaign on MailChimp, and I don't like that the series meta appears on my post summary in the subscriber emails. Is there an option I can select or a code I can enter to prevent the meta from appearing in the RSS feed?

Hi,

My website is blizzardtoabreeze.com . I use a custom theme and the mailchimp add form looks ugly on the website and I can't make it look better, so I downloaded YIKES.

All is great, the app is connected, API key works, but when I add an e-mail, nothing happens. It just reloads the form empty and the email is not added to my Mail Chimp list. I use single opt in. Tried double - same thing. No email confirmation, no nothing.

I have given it time, deleted all other similar plugins and tried deleting and resetting it couple of times.

Help!

I installed this on one site last week. Worked straight away - very impressive plugin! :)

Now I'm trying to install it on similar sites I manage, and it breaks the page.

Only the header displays, then underneath is blank.

Weird thing is - they are all clones of the same site template that worked last week. Same theme, same version, same plugins.

Any ideas?

Hello,

I made a research little bit, it looks like there is bug in s2member+mailchimp integration.

I am also using KC s2member+MC plugin to integrate other custom fields. It works fine when user register for the first time. However, once user updates profile, s2member unsubscribes user from mailchimp. Please advise.

Thank you,
