I’ve created a bunch of forms on my website with Contact Form 7 and I’m passing users to different Mailchimp lists.
The first problem I’ve encountered is that our Mailchimp lists are not showing up in the dropdown of lists below the API key connection, only 2 completely unrelated show up: “1 – – Unique id” and “2 – s – Unique id: s”. I’ve tried to connect it several times without success.
To bypass this issue, I’ve followed the instructions here and it works.
However, subscribers are getting a generic confirmation email from Mailchimp to confirm the opt-in. Instead of this, we’d like for them to receive a customized email depending on the list they just subscribed to.
I got in touch with Mailchimp’s support and they mentioned this is because the users are passed with status “Pending” which makes them receive a generic email.
Is there any way to pass their status as “Subscribed” and bypass this generic Mailchimp email? Is this because we are not able to set up the Mailchimp list for each form in the dropdown menu of the plugin?
